About Chef Luigi Di Iorio
Born on the picturesque island of Ischia, Italy, Chef Luigi Di Iorio’s passion for cooking began at home, surrounded by family who lived and breathed the art of food. Raised among uncles who were professional chefs and a mother whose recipes became his lifelong foundation, Luigi learned early that food is more than nourishment it’s emotion, memory, and artistry.
He began his culinary journey in his uncles’ kitchens, mastering the fundamentals as a young sous chef before stepping into the role of head chef. Over the past 20 years, Luigi has refined his craft across Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, London, and now the United States, bringing with him a deep respect for tradition and a dedication to innovation.
Drawing inspiration from the flavors of his Mediterranean heritage, Chef Luigi’s cuisine celebrates the simplicity and beauty of fresh ingredients from delicate seafood dishes to Ischia’s famed wild rabbit. Each plate reflects his Italian soul, his global experience, and his belief that true excellence in cooking comes from love, patience, and passion.

Our Story
Don Luigi was born as the natural evolution of my path in the culinary world. After the experience of Casami, I felt the need to go further, bringing my vision into a new setting: Sarasota.
Here I found the perfect place to weave together technique, emotion, and memory. Each dish reflects my story: Italian roots, years of training and experiences abroad, and a constant search for balance between innovation and tradition.
Don Luigi is not only the result of my personal journey, but also the support of those who believed in me and in this project. Sarasota becomes the stage where I can share with my guests not just food, but an experience that is authentic, refined, and unforgettable.
